Privacy policy

Swaddle ("Swaddle", "we", "us") sells overnight hand and foot care at wearswaddle.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit the store, buy something or sign up to our email list, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

You give us:

  • Name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number when you place an order.
  • Email address when you join our email or SMS list, or start a checkout and do not finish it.
  • Anything you write to us in an email or a support message.
  • Sizing and preference answers if you fill in an on-site quiz or form.

Collected automatically when you browse:

  • Device and browser type, operating system, language, and screen size.
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it (city or region level).
  • Pages viewed, products viewed, time on page, referring site, and the search or ad you arrived from.
  • Cookie and pixel identifiers that link those events to a browser or device.

We never see your full card number. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners. We receive only the last four digits, the card brand, and whether the payment succeeded.

2. How we use it

  • To take payment, ship your order, and email you about its status.
  • To handle returns, refunds, and the 60 night guarantee.
  • To manage subscriptions, including upcoming charge reminders and cancellations.
  • To send marketing emails and texts if you have opted in, and to let you opt out at any time.
  • To measure and improve our advertising, including which ads lead to purchases.
  • To detect fraud, prevent abuse, and keep the store secure.
  • To meet tax, accounting, and other legal obligations.

Our legal bases, where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies: performing our contract with you (orders and shipping), your consent (marketing and non-essential cookies), our legitimate interests (fraud prevention, security, and improving the store), and legal obligation (tax records).

3. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it with the service providers who make the store work:

  • Shopify - store hosting, checkout, orders, customer accounts.
  • Payment processors (Shopify Payments, PayPal, Shop Pay and similar) - card and wallet payments.
  • Email and SMS platform - marketing and transactional messages.
  • Shipping carriers and fulfilment partners - delivering your order.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google and other ad platforms - advertising measurement and audiences.
  • Analytics providers - traffic and conversion reporting.

We also disclose information when the law requires it, to enforce our terms, or if the business is sold or merged.

Sharing browsing data with ad platforms for targeted advertising may count as a "sale" or "sharing" under some US state laws. See section 6 for how to opt out.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for three things: keeping your cart and session working, measuring how the store performs, and advertising. Essential cookies cannot be switched off. You can refuse or delete the rest through your browser settings or, where shown, the cookie banner on the store. Blocking cookies may break checkout.

We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as an opt out of targeted advertising where the law requires it.

5. How long we keep it

Order records are kept for at least seven years to meet tax and accounting rules. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe, and then a suppression record is kept so we do not email you again. Analytics and advertising identifiers are typically kept for up to two years.

6. Your rights

Everyone: you can ask us to give you a copy of your information, correct it, or delete it. Email wearswaddle@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first, usually by confirming details of an order.

US state privacy rights (California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia and others): you have the right to know, delete, correct, opt out of targeted advertising and of the sale or sharing of your personal information, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. To opt out, email wearswaddle@gmail.com with the subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information", or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.

EEA and UK: you additionally have the right to object to processing, to restrict it, to data portability, to withdraw consent at any time, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Marketing: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link. Reply STOP to any text message. You will still get transactional emails about orders you have placed.

7. International transfers

We are based outside the United States and our providers operate globally, so your information may be processed in the United States, New Zealand, the European Union and elsewhere. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards with those providers.

8. Children

The store is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us information, email wearswaddle@gmail.com and we will delete it.

9. Security

We use Shopify's hosted, PCI DSS compliant infrastructure, encryption in transit, and access controls on our own accounts. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security of anything you send us.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top and, for material changes, post a notice on the store. Continuing to use the store after a change means you accept the updated policy.
